Today I’d like to talk about something that could appear far from the graphic designer world: meditation and its positive effect into creative process.

I’ve heard about Vipassana several months ago and I was immediately intrigued. The word “meditation” in this particular case is pretty restrictive… It’s more of a stylelife, and it’s based on living in touch with your inner-self (24/7).

Being used to always give our entire attention to the outside, we generally forget to take a look inside of us. It may sound like a trivial and new-age concept, but Vipassana is deeply connect with your body’s and mind’s wellness. That’s where our creativity comes from. More…

2 weeks away ‘till I moved from android to iphone (unrepeatable insults from the audience), I’m discovering the wide range of services (and limitations) the apple universe gives to its users.

Personally, one of the worst bug is being unable to use bluetooth to exchange documents between iphone and desktop.

With iCloud, Apple launched Streaming Photo. This service syncs automatically all your picture taken by iphone to your pc.
But what if I need to move pictures on a computer without my iCloud account, and maybe the usb cable is lost God knows where?

Who I am

Hi, I’m Alessandro Di Ruscio and I’m a designer.

How did I end up having such a God – Forsaken job? Easy to say: in this kind of job I can daily use my curiosity, creativity and passion for art!

Being a graphic designer has its drawbacks: extreme need of coffee, sudden rudeness, violent fights with my computer and a big effort in explaining what my job is about!

My professional background is pretty wide. A big amount of hobbies helps me thinking “out of the box”. I know it’s weird to say, but everything that draws your attention, enrich your creativity.

I love cinema, listen to music, read and be informed, cook, travel and get to know new places and people.
Beside all this, I still pursue my hopeless mission to learn how to play a guitar..

Be a designer is like be a sponge: you need to absorb, listen, learn and put in practice at the end.

It’s absolutely important to be aware of everything around us, to grasp it and understand it. A creative mind should always be awake.

The inspiration can arrive in different ways: a chat with friends, a movie scene, a painting from an art exhibition or a simple leaf. Anything is better than just stare at a computer screen.
